New Fragrance: Valentina Oud Assoluto

 

 

 

 

 

Launching this month is the limited edition fragrance by Valentino and surely one you will want to check out.  In keeping with its Italian roots, Valentina Oud Assoluto highlights the splendor and richness of Valentinaa Assoluto reinterpreted in a precious, oriental way.  By unveiling this bewitching perfume, Valentina Oud Assoluto associates the tradition of both Italian and Oriental perfumeries, while adding the sensuality of oud wood to the sparkling orange blossom.  Inspired by its rich colors and precious scents, this new fragrance represents the most extravagant and luxurious facet of Valentina Assoluto.

 

Olivier Cresp, Valentina's master perfumer, composed the base of the fragrance by genuinely capturing the scent of oud creating an experience that is sophisticated, sensual and fascinating to behold. In addition to oud wood the fragrance includes notes of:  

 

 

-Bergamot: Italian citrus ingredients playing on all of its luminous freshness

- Poivre: pepper creating a spicy variation

- Rose Essence: a concentrated, opulent form of rose water

- Saffron: spices derived from the saffron flower bringing it a warmth

- Patchouli: an aromatic oil producing a musty and magnetic smell

 

 

 

This sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent preserves its mystery in a black glass bottle.  Valentina Oud Assoluto pays homage to the Italian glass-making tradition, while adding a hidden and sensory appeal.  The bottle is adorned with a dark flower, crowned by a gold ring and topped with a black pearl.  Its black box is decorated with embosses flowers and a golden presenting Italian luxury with and Oriental touch.

 

 

 

I have yet to sample this scent, but I am intrigued by the bottle alone!  Valentino scents consistently have the most aesthetically pleasing packaging and I just love it.  I find this one particularly special because of its black glass bottle.  It carries a certain mystery and allure that would look just stunning on any vanity.
