butter LONDON for NYFW Spring 2014 Libertine & Dannijo Shows

butter LONDON's Global Colour Ambassador, Katie Hughes served as the lead makeup artists and manicurist at NYFW for both Libertine and Dannijo shows.  Check out the looks below!

Designer: LIBERTINE
Lead Makeup Artist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
Lead Manicurist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
The Scoop: Pretty with an edge; the collection was a collage of colours, fabrics and textures with many embellishments.

The Makeup Look:
·         Eyes: Katie used butter LONDON WINK Eye Pencil in Union Jack Black on the bottom lash line and smudged with her fingers to add a rock n’ roll edge. She used butter LONDON WINK Mascara in Union Jack Black on the lashes and the WINK Mascara in Brown Sugar on the brows to create subtle definition. Vaseline was applied on the lids of the eyes to add a glossy effect. Three black crystals were applied below the right eye.
·         Lips: Katie used butter LONDON LIPPY Balm in Toasted Marshmallow to neutralize the lip colour. She added a hint of butter LONDON LIPPY Balm in Black Cherry – matted lightly in the center of the lips.
·         Skin: Skin was clean with minimal tinted moisturizer.

The Nail Look: Katie applied butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Union Jack Black. She then used holographic foil and applied several colours to the nails. She finally applied crystals and studs to the nails and a small red pom-pom on accent nails. The crystals were also used to create hand-art – placed along the middle finger to elongate the look of the fingers.

Designer: DANNIJO
Lead Makeup Artist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
Lead Manicurist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
The Scoop: This collection, entitled NOIR, comes from an appreciation for cinema’s ability to illuminate female beauty. The colour palette also relates to film noir works: muted colours (the touches of colour in the stones) with areas of high contrast (the matte black plating and white crystals).

The Makeup Look:
·         Eyes: Katie used the new butter LONDON WINK Cream Shadow in Treacle (out Spring ’14) lightly over the whole eye before lining the upper lid with butter LONDON WINK Eye Pencil in Brown Sugar to create a wing effect. While some models sported the brown liner, others had a touch of aubergine (L’Oreal Infallible in Smoldering Plum) or bold blue (new butter LONDON WINK Eye Pencil in Peacock – out Spring ‘14) mixed into the line. Katie completed all eye looks by curling the lashes and applying a coat of butter LONDON WINK Mascara in Union Jack Black.
·         Lips: Katie used a nude liner around the lips and applied butter LONDON LIPPY Tinted Balm in Toasted Marshmallow and the new butter LONDON LIPPY Tinted Balm in Nutter (out Spring ’14).
·         Skin: Katie lightly hydrated the skin, applying a layer of Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer all over the face. She then mixed Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage with face cream and used under the eyes to eliminate any dark circles. butter LONDON’s new Cream Bronzer in Bit Faker (out Spring ’14) was used to highlight the face.
·         Cheeks: Katie used butter LONDON CHEEKY Cream Blush in Naughty Biscuit on the apples of the cheeks.

The Nail Look: Katie created four floating half-moon nail looks to complement Dannijo’s designs:

·         Look 1: butter LONDON Nail Foundation followed by butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Tea & Toast, with butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Hen Party to complete the look.
·         Look 2: butter LONDON Nail Foundation followed by butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Tea With The Queen, with butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Hen Party to complete the look.
·         Look 3: butter LONDON Nail Foundation followed by butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Bumster, with butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Hen Party to complete the look.
·         Look 4: butter LONDON Nail Foundation followed by butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Poole, with butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in Hen Party to complete the look.

I'm just so taken with both these looks, especially the idea of "pretty with an edge".  It lets you feel feminine but bold and fierce at the same time. This one inspired me and I'm determined to recreate it on myself.  Such a genius Ms. Katie is!
Which look do you prefer?
