Le Splendour: Organic Anti Aging Serum

Retail: $$32.95

Le Splendour is a vegan and organic beauty company whose products are specially formulated with organic flower, fruit and herbal extracts to help skin look brighter and smoother.  Their products aim to replenish skin and help fight signs of aging.

I started using Le Splendour's Anti- Aging Serum, which is made with organic pomegranate oil to  help reduce lines, wrinkles, and sun spots.  I applied a few drops every other night before bed, and rubbed it in with my fingers.  After a couple weeks, I noticed a subtle increase in hydration and the dry patches I sometimes get around my eyes had started to diminish.

While my skin tends to have trouble absorbing products, oils I have use sparingly or I risk breaking out.  I was happy to see this one didn't cause me any irritation.  It dried pretty quickly and helped improve the overall look of my skin.  Though it contains pomegranate, I didn't detect a scent, so if you prefer products without a fragrance, this would be a good option.

About Le Splendour:

BeautyBox5: April Reveal

Hello dolls!  This month's BeautyBox5 was G-O-O-D!  For those not yet familiar with BeautyBox5 it is a monthly subscription that selects five beauty industry favorites and delivers them straight to your door.  There are various subscription options to chose from, but my lucky self receives a complimentary box each month in exchange for sharing them with all of you lovelies.

Each month ha a different theme and this month's was "Take a Hydration Vacation".  Each product is aimed to pack a punch of moisture and help you amp up the hydration in this month's beauty regime!

Soapbox Sea Minerals Body Wash
Retail: $5.99

This guy combines some of my favorites; soothing aloe vera, shea butter and sea minerals.  Ideal for amping up hydration and it has a nice tropical scent!

Chella Passionate Pink Moisturizing Lip Pencil
Retail: $18.00

I was surprised to see how moisturizing a lip pencil could feel.  I love this one from Chella and definitely plan to give it a lot of wear time this season.  It's very nicely pigmented and the color is really pretty for spring.

Global Beauty Care Green tea Makeup Remover Wipes
Retail: $1.99

I can never have enough of these.  I go through them so quickly between gym days, and lazy days when I wear minimal makeup.

Masker Aide All Eyes On Me Hydrating Eye Gels
Retail: $25 CAD

These are designed to help brighten, hydrate and firm skin, which is great for summer prep!

Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigments
Retail: $19.95

One thing I love about BB5 is there's almost always at least one brand in it that I haven't tried.  I'm not familiar with Jelly Pong Pong, but I seriously can't wait to dive into this one.  It's so pretty and pink- and it actually looks like jelly!  It's advertised as great for both lips and cheeks.

Overall, I felt like this month's box was one of the year's best!  There were three full sized products, and two were on the pricey side.  Usually the products are more modest, but this month BB5 was working it!

Smith & Brit Teams Up with Souljourn Yoga for a Night of Beauty and Wellness

Smith & Brit Boutique and Spa is a special gem I discovered recently in Chelsea, NYC and I'm so glad I did!  Its founders Kristyn Smith, Claire Beevers, and Ali Hynes have over forty combined years of experience in the beauty industry, and the boutique offers services like bespoke facials and reflexology, to professional make up sessions.

Last week the spa hosted an event to support an amazing organization called Souljourn Yoga, created by Jordan Ashley.  Souljourn Yoga aims to raise awareness and funds for girls education in developing countries by teaming up with both local and international non-profits holding US501c(3) status.  Ten percent of the evening's sales went towards Souljour Yoga's upcoming retreat in Peru in collaboration with the Sacred Valley Project- a non profit organization that is dedicated to improving access to education for young women from low income families in remote mountain communities.
All Yogis take note that the Seva Adventure in Peru is scheduled for May 27th- June 5, 2016 and if you love to travel and give back, it's definitely an experience to look into.

"When creating Souljourn Yoga, I wanted to pick destinations that inspired me to bring out the wanderlust in the yoga practice while still choosing places that heavily need girl empowerment to equalize the education and opportunities allotted. Our first trip is with the Sacred Valley Project  and SVP goes to places and communities that are literally off of the grid. They reach out to girls in these villages in the Andes Mountains and makes school, let alone, improvement of life possible as an educated girl helps to reduce poverty and creates not only sustainability for her community, but will also be healthier and have a smaller family due to simply being educated. This is unfortunately a universal story and it starts with just having the awareness of this injustice."-Jordan Ashley

The event was a fun filled night of wine, complimentary makeup touch ups and mini facials.  The spa carries a variety of popular brands like Juara, Kaplan MD and UK favorite Rouge and Bunny, which guests got to experience during their services.

The overall tone of the spa is ultra relaxing, and during the entire visit you're breathing in this yummy, luxurious aroma.  But the staff is the highlight.  They're warm and friendly, and have tons of experience.  I peppered the aesthetician with questions after my facial and she was super patient and offered great advice.

Smith & Brit is the perfect way to escape the bustle of NYC and slip off into a haven of peace and quiet.  I can see myself becoming a regular, and I don't say that about many NYC spas.  If you're on the hunt for a new spot, do yourself a favor and head over to Smith and Brit.
