Makeup App Perfect365 Kicks it up a Notch with Release of Perfect365 Pro

Makeup addicts might already be familiar with Perfect365, the free app that lets them digitally try on various looks and products.  Recently the innovative app has taken things a step further and launched the Perfect365 Pro.  The enhanced version is specifically designed to aid makeup artists and their clients.  Press was invited to view a live demo led by celeb makeup artist Kabuki at the NYX Professional Makeup store in NYC.

Make up artist to the stars, Kabuki, used a NYX palette to create a customized look for the event, which is also available on the app.

"Perfect365 Pro will drastically change the makeup industry.  For my clients, getting the look right is the only option.  Now, with the face detection technology in Perfect 365 Pro, I can experiment and play with makeup looks on my client prior to applying it for a photo shoot and I can give them a realistic idea of what it will look like.  Digital Beauty is really the future of my industry"- Kabuki.

Why Perfect365 Pro is great for every makeup artist:

- Design makeup looks to send to clients prior to real- life application
- Manage and organize client contact information, reference photos, facial features, and payment details
- Create looks using your client's photo, include hot- to application videos and specific product information
- Allow clients to try on looks you created instantly using Perfect 365's Live Mirror Feature

Kabuki's customized look for the app.

Makeup Brands in Perfect365 Pro:
Similar to the Perfect365 digital beauty platform, Perfect365 Pro also works directly with brands to digitize looks in the app. Perfect365 Pro can digitize any complete looks for brand makeup artists to recreate and make minor adjustments, or, include individual products for them to create custom looks for a client. This can include an entire new line of products or specific looks for the current season. When the brand artist logs into Pro, instead of having general colors across the lip, eyes and face categories, they will have the colors from the brand they are affiliated with. In addition, brands can gain exposure to millions of users of Perfect365 by having their brand makeup artist and/or MUA influencers submit looks to the explorer section of the app.

Japanese Superstar Ryoko Yonekura Returns to Broadway

Last week Asia Society hosted an exclusive meet and greet with Japanese superstar Ryoko Yonekura.  The popular actress has returned to Broadway to revive the iconic role of Roxie Hart in the legendary hit musical Chicago.  Performances kicked off this past weekend on July 3rd and will run through July 13th, 2017 only.

Yonekura originated the role in the Japanese- language production in 2008, then made her Broadway debut in 2012 where she performed the part in English.

When asked to describe how playing Roxie Hart today, differed from playing her years ago, the actress admitted she was less worried about her pronunciation and was having more fun with the character.

"This time, I'm much more confident and I look forward to expressing more of my personality... I could very easily get overwhelmed thinking about the great actresses that have come before me in this role, and how they compare to my take on Roxie Hart.  But, I'm not giving into that kind of pressure.  More than anything, I just feel very thankful.  It's a pleasure to do this role again on Broadway"- Ryoko Yonekura.

Set in the glamorous 1920's, the story follows Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her.  Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

The music, the sets, the acting, Chicago is the total package.  A six time Tony Award winner, and officially the #1 longest running American musical in Broadway history, Chicago is one the show you'd be crazy not to see.

Beauty Box 5: June Reveal

BeautyBox5 kept me in suspense this month by arriving a little late.. so even though we are in July, this post is actually for June's unboxing.  For those not familiar with BeautyBox5it is a monthly beauty box subscription that selects five of the industry's must haves and delivers them straight to your door!  There are various subscription options to chose from, but my lucky self receives a complimentary box each month in exchange for sharing the goodies with all of you lovelies :)

Each month has a theme and this month's was a sassy "Get it Girl!".

Now, let's get to the goods shall we?

Laritzy Lip Pencil
Retail: $18.00

I'm all about neutrals and I think this lip liner from Laritzy in Bare is perfect for any season.  It's pigmented and creamy enough to completely fill in your lips, or use just as a liner.

DID Hair Jeweled Hair Tie Set
Retail: $7.50

My hair is too thick for these to hold it in place, but they make for cute accessories.  Especially the bedazzled ones.  And bonus, their soft fabric is designed to keep your hair crease free.

Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette (sample size)
Full size: $19.95

I love the colors in this palette.  It's on the edgier side which will be perfect for a night out.  The shadows are advertised as highly pigmented and buildable, making for an easy transition from a day to night look.

Jesse's Girl Liquid Liner
Retail: $6.99

I don't use colored eye liners too often, but I like this one so much that I already have a look in mind.  It's a bright, Hawaiian blue and super easy to apply.  Dries quickly too.

Prestige Cosmetics My Biggest Lashes Mascara
Retail: $7.50

I read some pretty amazing reviews about this mascara and have high expectations for it.  Its "plushy" brush is said to boost "high volume" without the clumping.  Considering the size of the brush, I do feel like it will create a fair amount of volume.. we'll find out!

Four out of the five items were full sized and together totaled over $40.  Overall, I'm definitely happy with this month's box and look forward to July's.

Review: Skinny Tan Gradual Tanner

Summer is here, and thus time to get my tan on!  Since lounging on the beach in the scorching sun isn't an ideal option for this fair skinned chick, I'm all about a killer fake bake.  I decided to kick off the season with Skinny Tan Gradual Tanner .
Advertised as "a white body butter cream with lower level of natural tanning activities to layer on to skin each day to achieve the perfect depth of a tan" it contains a natural tanning active plus Guarana that develops into a lasting tan.  So ultimately it works with your body's natural chemistry to create a tan that's right for your.  But why Guarana you ask?  Good question.  The naturally derived Guarana element is what puts the "skinny" in Skinny Tan.  The ingredient is said to help reduce the appearance of cellulite, hence making your biki bod look that much more bodacious.

I don't feel like I can attest to any visible changes regarding cellulite since I only used it for a week, but who knows?  Maybe further use over the coming summer months with make the difference.  I can, however, tell you that tanning wise, this stuff is da bomb (cuz Ima 90's chick).

I started with the Pre- Tanner Primer to exfoliate and then used the mit applicator to apply the tanner to my right leg.  It's texture had a creamy consistency and felt more like a luxe moisturizer then a sticky, smelly tanner.  The cream is white so note there are no color markings to guide you while you apply.  The scent is a delicious caramel/coconut mix, which is awesome because you don't have to deal with the nasty "I just slathered myself with tanner" scent that even everyone recognizes.

I loved that there was basically no dry time.  Since it applied like a lotion, it absorbed quickly and I didn't have to worry about color transfer or sticking to my clothes.  You might think it would be tricky to apply a tanner with no color guide, making it easy to miss spots but... well, see yourself!

This is the result of one application a day, for seven straight days.  It made no difference that the lotion was colorless, I was still able to achieve even coverage (and easily I might add).  By the third day, I even tossed the mit aside and applied it with my bare hands.  I eventually noticed a slight discoloring on the insides of my palms by the fifth day, but nothing extreme.

Overall I LOVE this tanner.  It's an obvious, but natural looking golden glow, which is exactly what a good tanner should leave behind.  There was no streaking whatsoever, and it even held up well during my cardio workouts.  No sweat streaks or fading, and still no color transfer on my clothes or bedsheets.
My only criticism would be that I wish it came in larger bottles.  Being fair skinned and liking it so much, I know I'll go through it quickly before the end of summer.  I guess the brand read my mind because I happened to notice they're currently running a BOGO sale on their website.  I would definitely recommend trying this tanner, especially for those who are fair skinned.
