Review: Prime Time Smile Active Blue Teeth Whitening Kit

I'm pretty fanatical about my teeth.  It may sound crazy, but I actually don't mind going to the dentist.  The reason being is most likely because I've never had any problems with them.  But that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.  Personally, I've always thought they could be whiter, and have tried many teeth whiteners in my day.  Some have been pretty successful while others.. not so much.  Luckily Prime Time Smile Active Blue Teeth Whitening Kit is definitely in the successful group, and one I would highly recommend.

I'm a huge fan of this kit because it's convenient, easy to use and best of all, its usage is designed to be at your desired frequency.  It includes two teeth whitening gel pens and one active blue whitening light.  The steps are simple:

1.) Twist the bottom of one pen until the gel reaches the top of the brush.
2.) Simply brush the gel over the top surface of your teeth.
3.) Press the bottom on the front of the blue light device, and place inside your mouth.  The blue light helps to accelerate the results of the whitening gel and helps optimize results.
4.) Leave in place for up to 10 minutes and repeat the process again.

I actually saw results on the first day.  They didn't necessarily look whiter yet, but they were noticeably shinier.  The blue light is designed to feel super lightweight and is easy to handle.  I was able to keep it in place while folding laundry, reading, and even standing at the sink doing dishes.  The gel was amazing.  Teeth whiteners can often be painful for me but not this one.  I want to emphasize that I felt no sensitivity whatsoever.  Since my teeth are more dull looking, rather then discolored, I usually left the light in for only 8 minutes or so, and then repeated, or if I was feeling lazy, I left it in the full 10 minutes with repeating. Because it was so affective, I found I was able to decrease the amounts of weekly usage rather quickly, going from 3-4 times a week to 2-3.  I really love this kit and feel like the light really makes a difference in the results.

Another good thing about it is, the mouthpiece is detachable.  This makes cleaning fast and simple, and also allows you to share it with a spouse or family member, given that it comes with an extra gel pen.

It retails for $46.00 and is available at Walmart.com , Ulta, Drugstore.com and Duane Reade.  For a dentist inspired device, I honestly felt like it left me with professional style results for a relatively affordable price.  With the holidays around the corner, it could also serve as a great gift for the health conscious and beauty lover on your list this season!

Do you know anyone looking to brighten their smile this season?  Will you consider Prime Time Smile?

Review: butter LONDON Bespoke Colour Cosmetics

I've been trying out a bunch of new makeup this fall and I'd say butter LONDON's Bespoke Colour Collection has hit the nail on the head.  Launched earlier this fall, it introduces products like WINK Mascara (6 Shades, $20 each), WINK Cream Eye Shadow (6 Shades, $18 each), WINK Eye Pencil (6 Shades, $18 each), LIPPY Tinted Balm (6 Shades, $20 each), and CHEEKY Cream Blush (4 Shades, $20 each). Along with the new cosmetics, five new Nail Lacquer shades ($15 each) will also be added to butter LONDON’s famous collection of nail lacquer.

PR kindly sent me the Cheeky Cream Blush in Honey Pie, Wink Colour Mascara in Brown Sugar, and Wink Eye Pencil in Pistol Pink.  One thing I love about butter LONDON is they think about the whole package.  The brand considers everything from the sassy names of each color, the quality of the product, right down to the adorable box its wrapped up in. And I must say, the packing was super cute!
Each box had a soft, black matte finish with florals going up one side, with a pale blue and more lovely florals on the insides.

Cheeky Cream Blush in Honey Pie

I really liked this blush because it was warm, natural looking shade that blended well with my natural pink undertones.  The texture was very creamy but blended into a lightweight, matte type of texture.  It was nice because it was so light on my skin, but still heavily pigmented.  Of the many cream blushes I've tried lately, this is one of my favorites.  It stayed in place throughout my day without smudging or fading off.

Wink Eye Pencil in Pistol Pink

For those like myself who just can't resist that pop of colour pink, this eye pencil is a fantastic find. Again, its very highly pigmented but doesn't weigh heavy on the skin.  Its a vibrant shade which makes it perfect for those days when you're feeling fun and flirty.  The directions state to blend immediately after application because it sets within the first 30 seconds.  I was impressed to see that it did in fact remain in place very shortly after application without smudging (I tested it with my finger).  I found it easy to apply also.  The formula feels somewhat gel-like and glides on smoothly.

Wink Colour Mascara in Brown Sugar

This is ideal for any girl searching for the ultimate smudge proof mascara.  No where on the box did I read "water proof" but this one certainly is because it took me quite a bit of elbow grease to remove it.  That being said, its great for those who may head straight to the gym after work, or have a laundry list of errands to do and don't want to slip into those less then sexy raccoon eyes while running around all day.  Surprisingly, I found myself partial to the chocolate brown colour.  While I usually favor "blackest black" I liked the subtle yet eye catching intensity it gave.

Have you tried anything butter LONDON's Bespoke Collection?  Do you see any that have peeked your interest??

New Fragrance: Valentina Oud Assoluto

Launching this month is the limited edition fragrance by Valentino and surely one you will want to check out.  In keeping with its Italian roots, Valentina Oud Assoluto highlights the splendor and richness of Valentinaa Assoluto reinterpreted in a precious, oriental way.  By unveiling this bewitching perfume, Valentina Oud Assoluto associates the tradition of both Italian and Oriental perfumeries, while adding the sensuality of oud wood to the sparkling orange blossom.  Inspired by its rich colors and precious scents, this new fragrance represents the most extravagant and luxurious facet of Valentina Assoluto.

Olivier Cresp, Valentina's master perfumer, composed the base of the fragrance by genuinely capturing the scent of oud creating an experience that is sophisticated, sensual and fascinating to behold. In addition to oud wood the fragrance includes notes of:

-Bergamot: Italian citrus ingredients playing on all of its luminous freshness
- Poivre: pepper creating a spicy variation
- Rose Essence: a concentrated, opulent form of rose water
- Saffron: spices derived from the saffron flower bringing it a warmth
- Patchouli: an aromatic oil producing a musty and magnetic smell

This sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent preserves its mystery in a black glass bottle.  Valentina Oud Assoluto pays homage to the Italian glass-making tradition, while adding a hidden and sensory appeal.  The bottle is adorned with a dark flower, crowned by a gold ring and topped with a black pearl.  Its black box is decorated with embosses flowers and a golden presenting Italian luxury with and Oriental touch.

I have yet to sample this scent, but I am intrigued by the bottle alone!  Valentino scents consistently have the most aesthetically pleasing packaging and I just love it.  I find this one particularly special because of its black glass bottle.  It carries a certain mystery and allure that would look just stunning on any vanity.

Celebrate with Birchbox

Hello again my precious beauties!  These past few weeks have been so hectic and there's just not enough days in the week for all the features I want to share with you dolls.  A little behind schedule but I wanted to post about my fabulous experience at the Birchbox Local event last month where the brand celebrated it's 3rd anniversary!

Guests were pampered with everything from yummy candies and dessert treats to complimentary manis, hair touch ups, and even face preparations that were followed by a fresh face of make up application.

Our skin was prepped and buffed with some truly fabulous products by dr. brandt, before heading off to Stila :)

The makeup artist did me up with a fresh coat of shadow, gloss and (my latest crush) Stila's convertible color cream blush!!

Our beautifying was just a prelude to the highlight of the evening.  We had the amazing opportunity to hear from Jean Godfrey-June, Beauty Director at Lucky Magazine and Katia Beauchamp, one of Birchbox's own co-founders.

The two shared expert advice and insight into succeeding in the industry as well as some of their favorite beauty secrets!

During the evening we were even able to build our own Birchboxes.  Check out which goodies landed in mine! :D
