Three Must Serve Cocktails at Your End of Summer Bash

 

The summer is winding down and no doubt you've already started planning your ultra fabulous, end of summer bash with friends.  There's nothing better then getting together with friends and kicking back with a fresh, crisp summer cocktail to beat the heat and celebrate the season.  Below are three yummy summer cocktails that are easy to create, using delicious teas from Harney & Sons.     

 

 

1. Organic Green Margaritas

 

- 2 ounces silver tequila

- 1ounce of Harney & Sons Organic Green Tea with Citrus and Gingko Iced Tea 

- 1 ounce of lime fresh lime juice

-2 tablespoons light agave nectar

 

 

 

2. Peach Bellini:

 

- 4 ounces Champagne

- 2 ounces Harney & Sons Peach Iced tea 

- 1 ounce peach puree

 

Pour peach puree and iced tea into a chilled champagne flute.  Slowly pure champagne over peach mixture and enjoy. 

 

 

 
 

3. Ice Pick

 

- 1.5 ounces vodka

- 1 teaspoon of sugar

- 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

- 1 cup of Harney & Sons Plain (Black) Iced Tea 

 

Mix vodka, sugar and lemon juice in a tall glass.  Fill glass with ice and fill glass with iced tea.  Still ingredients together and garnish with lemon.

I was so excited to learn that Harney & Sons now operates not far from my own hometown.  I've tasted several of their teas (reviews coming soon!) and loved each one so much I just had to share these summer drink ideas.  If you work any into your parties, let me know which ones were a hit!

CHICSTUDIOS: August Open House & VIP Giveaway

 

 

 

Hello my darlings :) Last year I discovered CHICSTUDIOS , a leading make up artistry school here in NYC, and they're gearing up for another fabulous open house!  The school holds monthly open houses that feature live demos by one of their teachers.  This month's theme is "The Art of Lashes" and it is a great opportunity for you wonderful aspiring make up artists to see what the industry has to offer.  The open houses are free attendees and you have the chance to watch one of their teachers in action, as well as meet some of the staff and ask questions.  CHICSTUDIOS provides a lot of hands on experience for students and is also licensed by the New York State Education Department.  The school recently celebrated its Fifth Anniversary (Congratulations ladies!!) and I strongly suggest checking it out!

Review: GlamNatural Mascara

 

 

 

 

You may recall me raving about a brand new favorite from my June Beauty Box Five  reveal: Glam Natural Mascara.  I've been using this baby SO MUCH these past couple weeks.  I love this mascara for a lot of reasons.  For starters its Gluten-free, paraben-free, hypoallergenic and has a vegan formula.  It isn't often, but I do fall victim to a nasty stys from time to time, so it is nice to have a mascara on hand that is extra gentle.    

 

 

 

The brush is a traditional shape with a bristle applicator.  The packaging is sleek and cool looking. The top of the applicator wand feels like a very soft rubber, and the tube is actually clear.  When I first opened it, I could see through the top of the tube (although now the product has dissipated throughout).  The gold lettering is simple but chic.     

    

 

 

Typically I look for volume before length when shopping mascaras, and even though this one doesn't give crazy volume, it adds considerable length and I LOVE it.  The great thing about this mascara is that the formula is so lightweight, my lashes stay curled and lifted.

You can see a noticeable difference once applied.  The volume is not fantastic, but the length is amazing.  I applied two coats here, but the formula is so feather light, that even after three or four coats my lashes are still divalicious.  It creates a wide eyed, fan effect that I just love.  Something that surprised me was that, no matter how many coats I applied, my lashes still felt soft.  I never experienced any flaking or raccoon eyes, no matter how hot it was outside.  The removal process is fast and easy too- no furious rubbing or elbow grease involved.  I'd say this one does a pretty good job delivering its "Glam Natural" look and feel.
