L.A. Colors Nail Treatment SuperStrength Nail Builder

Hi my lovelies, I hope everyone had a
wonderful holiday feasting on lots of yummy ham and chocolates ;)  I wanted to post one more time before the new year about L.A. Colors Nail Treatment SuperStrength Nail Builder that I picked up for $1.00 at my local Deal$ store.   

This brand has a rather decent selection ranging from fashion polishes to different types of bases coats to the skinny brush polishes for creating nail art.  Since I was in need of a new base coat and I thought why not finally give this brand a try? (Particularly with it's added strength building benefits). 
Directions say to apply 1-2 coats every 2-3 days to help restore weak or thin nails and prevent chipping.  I will admit I bought this product more to providing a decent base coat for filling the cracks and unevenness before applying polish rather then to test it's strength building abilities.  But with that said, I was very happy with it as far as a base coat.  It went on evenly and wasn't thick or gooey.  The polish glided on smoothly after and left a nice, even finish.  When worn alone, it had a super glossy sheen and I noticed a slight decrease in chipping.   I don't believe it made my nails any stronger, but considering it was only $1, overall I was pleased.

My only complaint was that after just a few uses, its cap came detached from it's wand.  I have had this happen to me with other polishes, but usually after time when they get old and are hard to open, not when they are brand new.  Overall, I still plan to try more of the LA Color polishes, particularly the thinned brush colors for creating designs.  So stay tuned for their reviews!

This just in!  Pantone has officially announced The Color of the Year for 2013!! And the new must- wear shade is ................................

I was pretty psyched when I heard the news because I had so much fun rocking last year's Tangerine Tango.  You may recall the vibrant, energetic, reddish orange that took the runways by storm and proved to be totally wearable for many skin tones, all year long.  This year's choice is a vivid green that provides a refreshing twist with a completely different vibe.  Said to enhance our sense of well-being by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony, Emerald usually brings to mind precious gems and luxe jewels.

With all that said, I think the one question on all our minds is "How does one chose the color of the year?"

New Year and New Look with Conair Infiniti PRO!

Softlips Stocking Stuffer Giveaway!

 

 

 

 

I discovered Softlips lip protectants a

few months back and have been a hopeless addict ever since.  Their scrumptious holiday flavors in their adorable packaging are charming stocking stuffers and delightful little treats for the holidays.

My First Vox Box!

Hello my lovelies!  I have some fabulous news that I've been dying to share!  I am now an official recipient of Influenster's Vox Box and I couldn't be happier :D This is such an exciting opportunity and I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have the experience.  So without further adieu, let me share with you.. my first Vox Box contents!

 

 

 

I'll start with it's milky goodness ;)  No girl is ever truly happy without a little comfort food in her midst, so naturally I was delighted to see they had included some delicious Ghiradelli Gourmet Milk Chocolate in this month's box.  The Sea Salt Escape flavor was absolutely heavenly and totally hit the spot! 

 

 

This original parfume from Bath and Body Works was a pleasant surprise that caught me completely off guard.  Now believe me, I enjoy a yummy Bath and Body Works scent as much as the next gal, but I have to admit I wasn't expecting such a mature scent.  Forever Red is a sultry fragrance that has what I can only describe as an edgy elegance.  It's mix of pomegranate, red osmanthis, and vanilla is feminine yet strong and incredibly desirable.  It's perfect for that moment you're strategically plotting to catch that certain someone under the mistletoe this year ;) A definite go-to scent for the holidays.      

 

 

 

 

I was tickled pink when I realized I was going to have the chance to try the Gillete Venus and Olay Razor that everyone had been raving about this summer, as well as the Venus Embrace Razor.  Both blades left me a pretty happy camper, but my favorite? Drum roll please?!.................................................................................

Truthfully, I was genuinely impressed with both blades.  But the difference?  I loved that the Venus and Olay version didn't require any shaving cream or lotion.  Its blade contains skin conditioners that lock in moisture and literally glide up and down the contours of your leg.  Both razors had 5 blades that provided equally close shaves but the added benefit of the moisture cushions was a huge plus.  I was pleased to learn that all Venus blade refills are compatible with any Venus razor handle.  The two pieces simply detach from one another, making each a universal fit.  No matter which Venus handle you purchase, you have the option to try every Venus blade there is until you find the one that works best for you, which is pretty awesome.   

 

 

The Venus Embrace razor is also a great find and definitely a solid back up.   

 

 

 

Also included were two FriXion Pilot Pens and I quickly slipped one into my purse ;) These spiffy pens let you quickly jot down notes with their gel like ink, then banish any mistakes with their savvy rubber tip.  It's like an eraser that doesn't shed and is actually pretty cool.  One item I'm forever rummaging around the bottom of my purse for is a pen, and now I've got one that is simply too nice to lose!

So that was my first Vox Box :)  I had so much fun using its contents and am already looking forward to the next one so stay tuned!

Love Your Locks this Winter

 

 

I picked up a 2.55 Fl oz sample of L'Oreal's  Serie Expert Vitamino Color Masque for $1.00 at a past Shecky's Girls Night Out event and finally got around to testing it.  This deep conditioner is designed to instantly transform drab hair in just a matter of minutes.  It works to add shine, revitalize color treated hair and help repair stressed and damaged strands. 

For just a fraction of a second, I almost wasn't concerned with the results.  Its scent was so yummy, that I figured if nothing else at least my hair would smell amazing! 

 

 

 

 

Putting aside it's irresistible, fruity scent, I did enjoy using this product.  It had a pink, gel like texture that absorbed into my hair exceptionally well.  I don't color my hair so I can't judge that aspect of it, but when I rinsed it out, my hair was definitely softer and easier to brush out.  It seemed it's results were best the first day or so after application, but then my hair needed another treatment.  I found it worked best as a prep tool for the night before, or night after I flat ironed my hair.  Prior to straightening, I applied the masque for an instant pick me up, adding shine and softness that showed up beautifully once my hair was straightened.  When I was ready nix the straight look, I did another treatment to repair any heat damage and give it a boost. 

 

My hair is rather coarse which is why I'm guessing the results didn't last as long for me as it might for those with less dry hair.  But all in all it's a decent product that I would recommend for these harsh winter months (especially for curly haired girls who prefer to wear their locks sleek and straight come winter :)   It's a healthy way to revitalize your locks and have them looking flawless for the holidays.
