ABOUT Oz The Great and Powerful
Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.
“Oz The Great and Powerful” opens in U.S. theaters on March 8, 2013.

I can't wait to try What Wizardry is This? ! Are you going to check out these shades??  Are you excited to see James Franco on the big screen again ? :p

L.A. Colors Nail Treatment SuperStrength Nail Builder

Hi my lovelies, I hope everyone had a
wonderful holiday feasting on lots of yummy ham and chocolates ;)  I wanted to post one more time before the new year about L.A. Colors Nail Treatment SuperStrength Nail Builder that I picked up for $1.00 at my local Deal$ store.
This brand has a rather decent selection ranging from fashion polishes to different types of bases coats to the skinny brush polishes for creating nail art.  Since I was in need of a new base coat and I thought why not finally give this brand a try? (Particularly with it's added strength building benefits).
Directions say to apply 1-2 coats every 2-3 days to help restore weak or thin nails and prevent chipping.  I will admit I bought this product more to providing a decent base coat for filling the cracks and unevenness before applying polish rather then to test it's strength building abilities.  But with that said, I was very happy with it as far as a base coat.  It went on evenly and wasn't thick or gooey.  The polish glided on smoothly after and left a nice, even finish.  When worn alone, it had a super glossy sheen and I noticed a slight decrease in chipping.   I don't believe it made my nails any stronger, but considering it was only $1, overall I was pleased.

My only complaint was that after just a few uses, its cap came detached from it's wand.  I have had this happen to me with other polishes, but usually after time when they get old and are hard to open, not when they are brand new.  Overall, I still plan to try more of the LA Color polishes, particularly the thinned brush colors for creating designs.  So stay tuned for their reviews!

Have you tried this brand before?  Would you take a chance for a $1?

Pantone Reveals Color of the Year for 2013

This just in!  Pantone has officially announced The Color of the Year for 2013!! And the new must- wear shade is ................................
I was pretty psyched when I heard the news because I had so much fun rocking last year's Tangerine Tango.  You may recall the vibrant, energetic, reddish orange that took the runways by storm and proved to be totally wearable for many skin tones, all year long.  This year's choice is a vivid green that provides a refreshing twist with a completely different vibe.  Said to enhance our sense of well-being by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony, Emerald usually brings to mind precious gems and luxe jewels.
For centuries the hue has been a representation to various cultures of new life, growth, prosperity, new beginnings and the epitome of regeneration, healing and unity

“The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”

Equally harmonious on the cosmetic color wheel, Emerald dramatizes all eye colors as it beautifully enhances green eyes, is compatible to blue eyes, emphasizes the green undertone in hazel eyes and intensifies brown eyes to make them appear deeper. Emerald is also a perfect complement to peaches, pinks, roses, ruby reds and aubergines – offering a variety of lipstick and blush options. For those who want to sparkle and stand out, Emerald is the perfect punctuation point in nail color because of its complementary nature.
With all that said, I think the one question on all our minds is "How does one chose the color of the year?"
The color of the year selection is a very thoughtful process. To arrive at the selection, Pantone quite literally combs the world looking for color influences. This can include the entertainment industry and films that are in production, traveling art collections, hot new artists, popular travel destinations and other socio-economic conditions. Influences may also stem from technology, availability of new textures and effects that impact color, and even upcoming sports events that capture worldwide attention.

For more than a decade, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.
Also introducing Panton's new partnership in the world of home decoration with the 260 years old paint brand Tollens®, a leader in the European paint industry. The partnership will give birth to an exclusive paint collection, Tollens inspired by Pantone, available throughout France in 2013.
As a redhead with blue eyes I am so excited over this new color!  What do you think?  Are you going to give it a try?

New Year and New Look with Conair Infiniti PRO!

Wave buh- bye to 2012 and toss out your old look with it!  Spice up the new year with a little bounce and texture in your locks.  Conair's  sleekest iron; the Infiniti PRO Steam Waver is an ultra hot, electric pink iron that creates fabulously tight waves and will get heads turning.
I truly love this iron because like the last Conair iron I've tried, it successfully achieves it's advertised results.

It has a super quick 30 second heat up and comes with 3 settings (low, medium, high).  The iconic steam mist moisturizes your hair making it touchably soft, while ions work to reduce frizz and add shine.
It creates very tight waves (or a soft, lose crimp) depending on how you look at it.  As I began using it, I realized it's desired effect looked better if I used it on select sections of hair.  For example, I pulled my hair into a half pony and used it to add some texture on various sections throughout my head.  It added a little body and gave my hair a totally modern feel.  If applied evenly throughout my whole head at once, I simply felt it made my already full, thick hair too large.  If you are looking to add some volume this will definitely do so.  After finishing, I finger combed it through to blend it just a bit.  I added a few spritzes of my Bangstyle hair spray and I was ready to go!  I'm super excited to use it for my upcoming New Year's eve party because it'll add some unexpected edge to my look and give it that added umph! ;)

Courtesy of Conair, I was also given their Impressions Cushion Brush and Topsy Tail to sample and both are adorable additions to help you create a brand new do for the new year!  The brush has a funky pink swirl design and is made with a flexible cushion base for stress free brushing and it's ball tipped bristles don't snag or pull hair.. as silly as it seems, it actually makes me look forward to brushing my hair!

Conair's Topsy Tail lets you dress up any old pony tail.  It adds instant elegance to your simple pony and makes even the most casual outfit look chic.  It is simple to use and does not get caught or tangled.  It comes with two different sized tools (1 small, 1 large) to accommodate the size of your pony, 3 elastics, and a booklet of styles and how- to instructions.
Of course with the holidays coming, Conair and myself want to be sure you have these fab tools at your disposal!  Enter the below giveaway to win both and have them in time for the New Year!  One lucky winner will receive one Impressions Cushion Brush and one Topsy Tail!  So hurry to enter and good luck!

Softlips Stocking Stuffer Giveaway!

I discovered Softlips lip protectants a
few months back and have been a hopeless addict ever since.  Their scrumptious holiday flavors in their adorable packaging are charming stocking stuffers and delightful little treats for the holidays.
I received a few samples courtesy of PR including Jack Frosting, Sugar Cookie, Sugar Plum Fairy, Winter Mint, Sugar and Spice and limited edition Peppermint Stick
I could hardly stand it as I tore open the package and was met with a heavenly whiff of sweet vanilla (yum!).  I decided to go for the zing of classic coolness and slicked on the Winter Mint. It glided on clear from its signature slim stick, and the consistency was ultra light and soothing.  I felt it's famous tingling sensation and fresh mint scent.  Also in it's pack was Vanilla, which is one of my favorite holiday scents.  This one was particularly nice because I also detected a hint of mint mixed with it's scent.  (Granted they were both in the same package, but it still smelled delish!)   They have a slick texture that isn't waxy and doesn't leave behind any residue.  Softlips is full of playful, festive editions and I love that they never forget the important elements like SPF 20 which a must- even in winter!
My lovelies know I couldn't do a Softlips post without a special thank you from both Softlips and myself :) I am giving away 4 Softlips 2 packs; 3 packs of Jack Frosting and 1 pack of Vanilla with bonus Sugar and Spice.  Four lucky winners will each receive a 2 pack of Softlips Lip Protectant and have the chance to slip some Softlips into their loved one's stocking this year, or hand deliver it as a special gift :)
This giveaway is open to all U.S. residents.

Good luck my lovelies and happy holidays!

My First Vox Box!

Hello my lovelies!  I have some fabulous news that I've been dying to share!  I am now an official recipient of Influenster's Vox Box and I couldn't be happier :D This is such an exciting opportunity and I can't tell you how lucky I feel to have the experience.  So without further adieu, let me share with you.. my first Vox Box contents!
I'll start with it's milky goodness ;)  No girl is ever truly happy without a little comfort food in her midst, so naturally I was delighted to see they had included some delicious Ghiradelli Gourmet Milk Chocolate in this month's box.  The Sea Salt Escape flavor was absolutely heavenly and totally hit the spot!
This original parfume from Bath and Body Works was a pleasant surprise that caught me completely off guard.  Now believe me, I enjoy a yummy Bath and Body Works scent as much as the next gal, but I have to admit I wasn't expecting such a mature scent.  Forever Red is a sultry fragrance that has what I can only describe as an edgy elegance.  It's mix of pomegranate, red osmanthis, and vanilla is feminine yet strong and incredibly desirable.  It's perfect for that moment you're strategically plotting to catch that certain someone under the mistletoe this year ;) A definite go-to scent for the holidays.
I was tickled pink when I realized I was going to have the chance to try the Gillete Venus and Olay Razor that everyone had been raving about this summer, as well as the Venus Embrace Razor.  Both blades left me a pretty happy camper, but my favorite? Drum roll please?!.................................................................................
Venus and Olay Razor
Truthfully, I was genuinely impressed with both blades.  But the difference?  I loved that the Venus and Olay version didn't require any shaving cream or lotion.  Its blade contains skin conditioners that lock in moisture and literally glide up and down the contours of your leg.  Both razors had 5 blades that provided equally close shaves but the added benefit of the moisture cushions was a huge plus.  I was pleased to learn that all Venus blade refills are compatible with any Venus razor handle.  The two pieces simply detach from one another, making each a universal fit.  No matter which Venus handle you purchase, you have the option to try every Venus blade there is until you find the one that works best for you, which is pretty awesome.
The Venus Embrace razor is also a great find and definitely a solid back up.
Also included were two FriXion Pilot Pens and I quickly slipped one into my purse ;) These spiffy pens let you quickly jot down notes with their gel like ink, then banish any mistakes with their savvy rubber tip.  It's like an eraser that doesn't shed and is actually pretty cool.  One item I'm forever rummaging around the bottom of my purse for is a pen, and now I've got one that is simply too nice to lose!
The rubber eraser
So that was my first Vox Box :)  I had so much fun using its contents and am already looking forward to the next one so stay tuned!

Love Your Locks this Winter

I picked up a 2.55 Fl oz sample of L'Oreal's  Serie Expert Vitamino Color Masque for $1.00 at a past Shecky's Girls Night Out event and finally got around to testing it.  This deep conditioner is designed to instantly transform drab hair in just a matter of minutes.  It works to add shine, revitalize color treated hair and help repair stressed and damaged strands.
For just a fraction of a second, I almost wasn't concerned with the results.  Its scent was so yummy, that I figured if nothing else at least my hair would smell amazing!
Putting aside it's irresistible, fruity scent, I did enjoy using this product.  It had a pink, gel like texture that absorbed into my hair exceptionally well.  I don't color my hair so I can't judge that aspect of it, but when I rinsed it out, my hair was definitely softer and easier to brush out.  It seemed it's results were best the first day or so after application, but then my hair needed another treatment.  I found it worked best as a prep tool for the night before, or night after I flat ironed my hair.  Prior to straightening, I applied the masque for an instant pick me up, adding shine and softness that showed up beautifully once my hair was straightened.  When I was ready nix the straight look, I did another treatment to repair any heat damage and give it a boost.
My hair is rather coarse which is why I'm guessing the results didn't last as long for me as it might for those with less dry hair.  But all in all it's a decent product that I would recommend for these harsh winter months (especially for curly haired girls who prefer to wear their locks sleek and straight come winter :)   It's a healthy way to revitalize your locks and have them looking flawless for the holidays.
Retail: $28.99

"Shine Bright Like a Diamond" this Season with L'Oreal's Diamond Collection

Move over Rihanna! L'Oreal's  sparkling new Diamond Collection will out shine even the brightest stars this holiday season. The collection contain a jewel inspired version of Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara, exclusive shades of Infalliable Shadows and glosses, Colour Riche Nail polish and some very chic Colour Riche Nail Lingerie stickers
PR kindly sent me a few samples (to which I couldn't resist popping in some of RiRhi's "Diamonds") and began dolling myself up!
Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara $8.95
I love this mascara because it has such a lightweight formula and doesn't clump up.  It leaves your lashes looking full and creates a nice fan- like effect.  And as part of it's glittering inspiration, it's holographic strip makes it a totally festive touch on your vanity :)
Next I applied the Infalliable Lip Gloss in Sparkle Frenzy.  This is going to be my go- to shade for the Christmas party this year.  It's pop of holly red draws attention for the occasion, but it's gold tones keep it classy and elegant.  The uniquely slanted applicator brush helps provide better coverage and it's consistency is light and doesn't stick.  It's sure to stay in place no matter how many cocktails you treat yourself to ;)

Sparkle Frenzy $9.99
 "Something Shiny" $9.99
 "All Iced Out" $9.99
L'Oreal nail polishes make me swoon for many reasons.  They have fantastic coverage, can go up to a week without chipping and of course; the color selection.  The Diamond Collection has a series of dazzling holiday shades.  I applied "Lifetime Love" and found it was a stunning match with Sparkle Frenzy.
"Lifetime Love" $5.99
"So Chic!" $5.99
"Fancy Me" $5.99
"The Bigger The Better" $5.99

Nail Lingerie... how sexy is that? I just adore these stickers because they're quick, easy to apply, and best of all, have a professional finish. Placed over a clear applique, several clear studs sparkle like diamonds over your nail. They're a unique way to add a little embellishment and glam up even the simplest ensemble.
Have you tried L'Oreal's Diamond Collection? Which is your favorite product?
